Our Story
At NZ Skills Connect, our journey begins with a deep commitment to support internationally qualified nurses (IQNs) in confidently transitioning into the NZ healthcare system.
Our founder, Felix Rexy , brings over 10 years of clinical nursing experience in New Zealand and has dedicated her career to helping nurses from around the world adapt and thrive here. As a former Program Coordinator for the Competency Assessment Program (CAP) and a college lecturer for nursing students, he witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by overseas nurses—cultural differences, communication barriers, limited understanding of NZ’s healthcare environment, and high failure rates in licensing exams.
When the Nursing Council transitioned from CAP to the OSCE exam as the primary pathway for registration, he recognized a critical need for specialized, practical training tailored to these unique challenges. To address this, she and her colleagues established NZ Skills Connect—a dedicated organization committed to transforming the way overseas nurses prepare for their OSCE exams and integrate into New Zealand’s healthcare workforce.
